Karnataka have announced their 15-member squad for the opening match of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season against Andhra Pradesh. The team includes experienced players such as KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair, while Smaran Ravichandran will captain the side after an impressive 2025-26 season in which he scored 950 runs, including four centuries. Karnataka, who finished as runners-up last season, will look to begin the new campaign strongly.
Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul Included in Karnataka Ranji Trophy Squad for Andhra Match
Prasidh Krishna has also been included in the Karnataka squad after suffering a hamstring injury during the second ODI between India and West Indies in Guwahati. The injury ruled him out of India’s third ODI, but he has been cleared to play domestic cricket.
His inclusion gives Karnataka an experienced pace option and also provides him with an opportunity to get red-ball cricket under his belt ahead of India’s upcoming New Zealand tour. Devdutt Padikkal will miss the opening match because he is with India A, while Vidwath Kaverappa and Vijaykumar Vyshak are also absent.
Shreyas Gopal, who took 48 wickets in the previous Ranji season, will be an important part of the bowling attack, while Mayank Agarwal comes into the season after a successful County Championship stint with Durham.
