While the filmmaker usually remains calm and doesn’t raise his voice on set, he once sent Kevin Costner home after the actor displayed an ego-filled disposition while filming. Scott Eastwood reveals how Clint Eastwood asked Kevin Costner to leave his set

During an interview with Dax Shepard for ‘Armchair Expert,’ Scott Eastwood remembered that everyone respected his father on the film set. “I’m sort of going to paraphrase it, and I’ll probably tell it a little wrong,” he said about the time Costner refused to leave his trailer. “Kevin Costner sort of going through maybe the Kevin Costner rise to fame and maybe got a big ego, you know, blah blah blah, but they were doing ‘A Perfect World,’” he added.“Apparently, he [Kevin Costner] didn’t want to come out of his trailer for some reason,” the 40-year-old actor said. As a result, Clint reacted by saying, “Well, send him home then,” even though Costner was scheduled to be in the scene. “So he sent him home, and I guess they just went to Kevin and said, ‘Hey, you’re going to go home for the day,’” Scott explained, and continued, “He said, ‘What do you mean I’m in the scene?’ You know, ‘Well, I guess you’re not anymore. Clint changed that.’” Speaking of the day after he was asked to go home, Eastwood added, “I think the next day he was on set ready to go.”The 1993 film, ‘A Perfect World,’ revolves around a prisoner on the run kidnapping an eight-year-old child, leading to them becoming friends.
