The Pakistan team, led by Babar Azam, achieved a remarkable victory over the West Indies by nine wickets in the second Test held in Port of Spain. In this match, which concluded in just four days, Pakistan bowled out the West Indies for only 117 runs in their second innings and chased down the target of 75 runs, losing just two wickets in 23.3 overs.
This victory saved Pakistan from the risk of losing the Test series on West Indies soil. It also marked the end of a streak of eight consecutive defeats in Tests played abroad.
Pakistan Gains in WTC Points Table
With the win in the second Test, Pakistan earned 12 World Test Championship points.
Having accumulated a total of 16 points out of 72, Pakistan’s points percentage has now reached 22.22, allowing the team to rise from ninth to eighth place.
However, to qualify for the WTC final, they will need to perform exceptionally well in the remaining matches.
On the other hand, the West Indies’ points percentage has dropped from 22.73 to 20.83. With only 30 points out of 144, the West Indies have fallen to the last position.

Pakistan’s Next Challenge
Pakistan is set to tour England next. The first Test will take place at Headingley in Leeds starting August 19.
The second Test will be held at Lord’s from August 27, and the third Test will take place at Edgbaston starting September 9.
Australia Remains at the Top
Australia continues to lead the World Test Championship points table with a points percentage of 87.50.
Having secured seven victories in the eight Tests played so far, Australia will play a two-Test series against Bangladesh at home starting next week.
If they win both Tests, Australia could see their points percentage rise to 90.
Crucial Series for India Against Sri Lanka
India currently sits in fifth place. The two-Test series against Sri Lanka in August is crucial for the Indian team.
Winning both matches would keep India’s hopes alive for reaching the World Test Championship 2027 final.
