Aamir Khan’s family recently went through an emotional loss as their pet cat Miri passed away, with videos showing his 14-year-old son Azad in tears going viral on social media. Kiran Rao, Aamir’s ex-wife, has now written a heartfelt tribute in memory of their pet.

Taking to Instagram, Kiran shared a photo of Miri and wrote, “Miri Cat left us to yesterday to bask in eternal sunshine and have an endless supply of birds and critters to chase. She was one hella cool cat. Named for her peppery coat, Miri was a consummate hunter who liked to drink from nice glasses, and used the elevator to travel up and down in the building.”“She had the softest-ever coat, and generously collected her hafta of scratches and brushing from all of us and anyone who passed through the house. And what she loved doing most was lying around in dappled sunlight, stretched out like the queen that she was… She has our hearts forever. Miri is now resting in peace on our farm, surrounded by birdsong”, she added.

Several clips surfaced online on Saturday showing Azad, Aamir and Kiran’s son, breaking down in tears. The videos captured the family leaving the hospital with the mortal remains of their cat.

Back in July this year, Aamir Khan tied the knot for the third time, marrying his girlfriend Gauri Spratt. Aamir previous marriage was with Kiran Rao, with whom they shares a son, Azad. Before that, he was married to film producer Reena Dutta, his first wife, with whom he has two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan.
