Kwena Maphaka Ruled Out of ODI Series With Hamstring Injury- IPL

South Africa have suffered another injury blow before their three-match ODI series against Australia. Fast bowler Kwena Maphaka has been ruled out after picking up a right hamstring strain during training.

Maphaka will undergo further tests to find out how serious the injury is. Lizaad Williams has been called up as his replacement. He will join the South African squad on Wednesday, September 23, one day before the first ODI in Durban. Maphaka’s injury adds to South Africa’s problems in the pace department. Lungi Ngidi is already out of the series after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for the Titans.

Kagiso Rabada and Ottneil Baartman are also unavailable due to hamstring injuries. Nandre Burger has been dealing with a back problem, while Lutho Sipamla is another South African fast bowler currently affected by injury.

The ODI series will begin in Durban on September 24. The second match will be played in Johannesburg on September 27, followed by the third ODI in Potchefstroom on September 30. South Africa and Australia will then play a three-match Test series after the ODIs.
