NEW DELHI: A protester who repeatedly said “maaro sir, maaro” while standing his ground during a police crackdown on demonstrators in central Delhi on Monday has drawn attention after a video of the incident went viral on social media.The incident occurred during a Parliament march called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), where protesters attempted to cross barricades and move towards the protest site, according to news agency PTI.Police used lathis and tear gas shells to disperse the crowd at several locations.In the video, the protester can be seen standing directly in front of a group of security personnel carrying lathis. As officers approached him, he repeatedly said, “maaro sir, maaro sir (beat me, sir),” while remaining in place.Many demonstrators dispersed during the police action, but the man continued to stand his ground as the confrontation unfolded.The march included a large number of students and youth activists. Protesters were stopped at multiple points across central Delhi as security forces sought to prevent them from advancing further.
