Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris is the only Pakistani player confirmed to feature in Guyana Amazon Warriors’ squad for the upcoming edition of the Global Super League (GSL).
GSL to clash with the Hundred and LPL
Haris was signed by the team for their Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign in 2023, though he did not feature in any games. The young wicketkeeper batter was also part of Peshawar Zalmi’s winning side in the Pakistan Super League this year.
GSL 3 will overlap with the Hundred, set to run from July 21 to August 16, and the Lanka Premier League (LPL), slated for a July 17 to August 8 window. This could create scheduling issues for Haris as he was earlier signed by LPL franchise Colombo Kaps.
MLC to make GSL debut
The competition will feature four other teams, including Lahore Qalandars, who are returning to the competition for the first time since their debut in 2023, Australia’s Perth Scorchers, the UAE’s Desert Vipers, and the USA’s San Francisco Unicorns, who will be the first Major League Cricket (MLC) team to feature in the tournament.
Guyana won the previous edition of the GSL by defeating Rangpur Riders in a high-scoring game.
