Recently, rumours circulated that shooting for director Tharun Moorthy’s upcoming Malayalam film, Athimanoharam, starring Mohanlal, has been put on pause due to scripting issues. After the news spread, Tharun took to his social media to issue a clarification. Putting all rumours to rest, he assured fans that shooting was in progress.

Mohanlal film shooting not halted
Tharun posted a monochrome picture on his Instagram Stories. The text on it reads: “Dear friends, I am receiving many messages and calls regarding online news claiming that our shoot has been stopped due to confusion in the script. This is completely false. We have been shooting here in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days.”
He admitted that while the rain was making it difficult for them to shoot, they were persevering, writing, “Yes, the rain and weather conditions have affected some of our plans, but our team is working hard to overcome every challenge and continue filming with great enthusiasm and positivity.”
He ended his note with, “I kindly request everyone not to post or spread unverified information for personal likes, views, or reach. Such misinformation can create unnecessary confusion among the audience and affect the efforts of the entire team. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
About Athimanoharam
Tharoon had previously clarified that Athimanoharam will not follow a similar template to Mohanlal’s hit Thudarum. He clarified that the film is a police procedural with a family drama at its core, and urged the audience not to expect anything like the 2025 hit. With the working title L366, this film marks Mohanlal’s 366th film and his second collaboration with Tharun after Thudarum.
In Athimanoharam, Mohanlal plays Sub-Inspector TS Lovelajan. The first look poster shows him smiling widely in a police uniform, surrounded by Ayyappa devotees heading to Sabarimala. The screenplay is by Ratheesh Ravi, with music by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Shaji Kumar, and editing by Vivek Harshan, known for his work on Manjummel Boys and Aavesham. Meera Jasmine plays the female lead.
