Netflix is adding eight new documentaries in June 2026, and each title brings a different story to the platform. The lineup covers sports, crime, and personal profiles.

Plodi

Plodi is a documentary that will focus on the life of Lukas Podolski. Netflix has framed it as an intimate documentary about the footballer, entrepreneur, fan favorite and community hero. The documentary will be a reflection on his journey and what comes next. The film is set to premiere on June 4.

The Murder of Rachel Nickell

The Murder of Rachel Nickell looks back at the 1992 killing of a young mother on Wimbledon Common. Reportedly, the film will follow the years-long police investigation. It will also include archive footage, family accounts and forensic expert insights. It also examines how a flawed inquiry led to the wrong man being prosecuted.

USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory

USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory is a sports documentary that revisits Brazil’s World Cup story. The title is a representative of the team’s return to top form, and Netflix includes it as one of the June nonfiction releases.

The American Experiment

Netflix has created a documentary series to commemorate two and a half centuries of US independence. The series, titled The American Experiment, reexamines the country’s founding and the fundamental question at the heart of the American Revolution: Is it possible for a people to rule themselves?

It includes everything from the Constitution’s writing to the Revolutionary War and beyond. Brian Knappenberger, known for his films addressing some of the most significant and important times in US history, is directing the five-part series.

Michael Jackson: The Verdict

With Michael Jackson: The Verdict, a three-part documentary series, Netflix is taking advantage of the renewed interest in the life of Michael Jackson. Instead than focusing on Jackson’s artistic genius, the series explores one of the most combustible court cases in contemporary history. It provides a thorough examination of the artist’s child abuse accusations and his 2005 acquittal. It will release on June 3rd.

Chris & Martina: The Final Set

The film Chris & Martina: The Final Set, which follows tennis greats Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert who, through their fierce rivalry, entirely defined the sport for women. They have 324 top-level singles titles and 36 Grand Slam singles titles between them.

This documentary, which is directed by two-time Emmy-winning producer and director Rebecca Gitlitz, begins years after their last game.

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

This Emmy-winning series, which is returning for a third season, follows the dancers and directors of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, often known as America’s Sweethearts, from their auditions until the NFL season. They are regarded as the most famous cheerleading squad in the world because of their unique personality and instantly identifiable blue and white star attire.

Maternal Instinct

The plot of Maternal Instinct centers on Taylor Parker, a young woman who fell in love with Wade Griffin, a hog trapper in a small hamlet in East Texas. They soon developed a relationship that seemed unique and healthy. She soon became pregnant and announced her pregnancy to the world via social media. But as the months went by and her due date drew near, the family started to wonder if she was truly pregnant.
