Noman Ali becomes fourth fastest Pakistan bowler to reach hundred wickets in TestsNoman Ali surpassed Saqlain Mushtaq to become the quickest Pakistan bowler to reach 100 Test wickets. Noman took 22 matches to reach the milestone, which is the joint-fourth fewest matches for a Pakistan bowler, sharing the record with Fazal Mahmood. Noman Ali, 39, is also the oldest player to reach the milestone

He joins Yasir Shah and Saeed Ajmal as the only other spinners on the list, each of whom reached 100 wickets in 17 and 19 matches, respectively. Just last year, he took a ten-wicket haul in two consecutive Test games, becoming the joint-fourth bowler to do so. He shares that record with the likes of Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, and Shane Warne, among many other greats.

The 39-year-old took three wickets in the first session on the final day of the Mirpur Test. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was Noman’s hundredth wicket as he dismissed him with a classic left-arm spinner’s delivery. The ball was tossed up outside off stump, and it dipped at just the right angle to kiss Mehidy’s outside edge, landing in the hands of Salman Ali Agha at first slip.

He also dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto by trapping him LBW, helping Bangladesh lose a crucial wicket.
