PCB confirms injured Abdullah Fazal's replacement for West Indies and England toursPakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called up Abdullah Shafique and Saud Shakeel for the ongoing West Indies tour. Shafique will replace injured Abdullah Fazal, who sustained a lower back injury in a training session two days out from the first Test. Fazal was subsequently ruled out of both series against West Indies and England.

Saud, meanwhile, has been included in the squad for the West Indies series, having previously missed out due to fitness concerns. In fact, his inclusion for the England tour was subject to fitness.

Shafique’s return means he will play a Test match for the first time since October 2025. His exclusion from the team came as a result of his dwindling form. Since the start of 2024, in 16 innings, Shafique has only got past single-figure scores five times, bringing his average down to almost 18.
