Peshawar Zalmi had a bit of a scare against Multan Sultans, who got off to a flying start chasing 197. However, Zalmi’s bowlers proved too good, keeping their winning streak alive in the tournament. They now have eleven points after six games, and the only point they lost came in a washout.
Zalmi are reaping the rewards of Kusal Mendis’ purple patch as he went on to score his second fifty after the century he brought up against Karachi Kings. He kept things tight even as Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam fell early, ending with 68 off 40.
Sufiyan Muqeem, meanwhile, has broken away from sharing the Fazal Mahmood Cap with Shaheen Shah Afridi. Taking three wickets against Sultans, he took his tally to 13, taking at least a three-wicket haul in his previous four games.
