Rawalpindiz did not have any luck as they lost their fifth straight game. Half the group stages in, and they are yet to win a PSL game. They had a good chance against Quetta Gladiators, especially given how the debutant team took the game down to the wire against Peshawar Zalmi. But they kept making the same mistakes that have landed them at the bottom of the table.
Quetta secured their second win of the season after two back-to-back defeats. The win also gave them a much-needed Net Run Rate (NRR) boost as they climbed to the fifth position. The Gladiators, however, have plenty of introspection to do, especially in their top order. Saud Shakeel and Rilee Rossouw did the bulk of the scoring, but the runs came at a slower rate than the format demands.
Hasan Nawaz’s 39 off 16 balls helped the team end with a respectable total. Hasan now has the second-most runs in the PSL this season, with 197 at a strike rate of 142.75.
