Rachin Ravindra Ruled Out of New Zealand vs India T20I Series With Shoulder Injury- IPL

Rachin Ravindra will miss New Zealand’s upcoming T20I series against India after dislocating his right shoulder during a promotional shoot. He is expected to be out for around six weeks. New Zealand are hoping Ravindra can return for the ODI series against India, which starts on November 4. He will focus on his recovery before making a comeback.

“We’re gutted for Rachin,” said New Zealand’s head coach Rob Walter. “He’s going to play a big role for us this summer so it’s important that he doesn’t rush his rehab, but we’re optimistic he’ll be back for the ODIs.”

Ben Sears will also miss the T20I series. The fast bowler is still recovering from an ankle injury and was not considered for selection. New Zealand have picked a 16-member squad for the series, which starts on October 22. Thirteen players from the team that finished runner-up to India in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup are part of the squad.

Michael Bracewell and Adam Milne are also back in the group after missing games due to injuries. Milne last played for New Zealand against Zimbabwe more than a year ago. “It’s going to be awesome to welcome India to our shores and get summer underway,” said Walter.

“India is a quality team and a challenging opposition, so to take them on in our own conditions in front of Kiwi fans is really exciting. We hear most of the games are going to be sold-out and it should make for some incredible occasions. “We’ve got a near full-strength squad that covers all bases and I’m excited to see how we compete against the current T20 world champions,” he added.
