Telugu actor Ram Charan’s much-awaited film Peddi released in theatres on June 4 and has got off to a strong start at the box office. Despite receiving mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and audiences, the sports action drama has managed to register an impressive opening, crossing the ₹100 crore mark worldwide on its first day. Amid the film’s successful opening, a video of Ram Charan’s wife, entrepreneur Upasana Konidela, celebrating the milestone with fans has surfaced on social media.

Upasana Konidela celebrates Peddi’s success
In the video, Upasana is seen cutting a large customised cake featuring the film’s poster and the words “Peddi Blockbuster”. The cake also featured five stars, reflecting the positive response the film has received from audiences. Dressed in a simple pink kurta set, Upasana appeared delighted as she celebrated the occasion with fans and well-wishers.
The video further showed fans bursting firecrackers to mark the film’s success. Upasana was also seen interacting with children present at the celebration and feeding them pieces of cake. Several people gathered around her applauded and cheered as the celebrations continued.
This is not the first time Upasana has been seen supporting Ram Charan’s latest release. Earlier, another video of her watching Peddi with fans in a Hyderabad theatre had gone viral online. She joined the audience for a screening of the film and was seen enthusiastically cheering for Ram Charan’s scenes.
Videos from the theatre showed the auditorium filled with excitement, with fans showering confetti and celebrating key moments from the film. In one clip, Upasana was seen picking up paper bits scattered across the floor and tossing them into the air, joining in the celebrations. The gesture drew appreciation from fans on social media.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a sports action drama centred on Peddi, played by Ram Charan, a talented hired cricketer from a neglected village in Vizianagaram. While various teams compete to recruit him for important matches, Peddi sees cricket as an opportunity to bring recognition and dignity to his village. Determined to put his community on the map, he takes on several challenges in pursuit of that goal.
The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani in key roles. At the box office, Peddi has delivered one of the biggest openings of the year. According to early estimates, the film earned around ₹69 crore in India on its opening day. It also performed strongly in international markets, taking its worldwide opening-day collection to approximately ₹112.49 crore.
