'Ramayana': Dil Raju in talks to acquire Telugu states rights for Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer for Rs 105 crore

Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated film ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in lead roles, has been the talk of the town since its epic trailer drop. Now, the film has been creating buzz over its milti-crore deals while selling off its distribution rights, music rights and more.After scoring a whopping USD 40 million deal with Sony for the film’s marketing and international distribution, the makers have now reportedly attracted significant interest from the Telugu film industry. According to the latest buzz, producer and distributor Dil Raju is said to be in talks to acquire the film’s theatrical distribution rights for the Telugu states.According to Glute, Dil Raju is negotiating to acquire the rights for a reported USD 105 crore.This update comes just days after Dil Raju was asked at a Hyderabad pre-release event of ‘Toxic’, whether he would produce a Telugu film featuring Yash. The producer responded positively, making it clear that the idea of bringing the Kannada star into a Telugu production is on the cards.However, fans may have to wait before the project takes shape owing to Yash’s packed schedule.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ has secured massive pre-release deals for its music and distribution rights. The film earned Rs 75 crore for the music rights. Dharma Productions locked the domestic rights in a massive deal reported between Rs 250 crore and Rs 350 crore.The film, that is being mounted as a two-part cinematic spectacle, features a large ensemble cast and was reportedly made on a budget of over Rs 4,000 crore.The film is slated to release on November 8 in India and on November 6 in global markets.
