The countdown to the release of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ trailer has entered its final phase, with the makers set to unveil the much-awaited trailer at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), before releasing it worldwide on July 24.On Wednesday, fans spotted leading men Ranbir Kapoor and Yash jetting out of Mumbai to head to San Diego to attend the pop culture event, for the grand international showcase for their film.

The ‘Ramayana’ panel is scheduled to take place on Thursday at 3:15 PM PDT in the 4,800-seat Ballroom 20 at SDCC. Hosted by entertainment journalist Coy Jandreau, the session will feature Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.During the presentation, the team is expected to discuss the vision behind the film, its large-scale production, character development and the adaptation of the ancient Indian epic for a global audience. As per reports, the panel will also include the premiere of exclusive footage, followed by the debut of the film’s official trailer.
‘Ramayana’ trailer release time
According to the Comic-Con schedule, the presentation will take place between 3:15 AM and 4:15 AM IST on July 24, when the trailer is expected to be unveiled for attendees in San Diego. Fans in India waiting to feast their eyes on the trailer, may just have to wait a little longer.As per a screenshot shared online from PVR Pictures’ official handle, the trailer has been scheduled for a 10 AM IST release on July 24 across digital platforms and cinemas. Meanwhile, other reports suggest that the trailer will release by 8 am IST.However, the makers have only confirmed July 24 as the date for the release and have so far, not revealed any scheduled time for the release.
‘Ramayana’ English-dubbed version to premiere at Comic-Con?
The makers are also expected to unveil a specially formatted English-dubbed version of the trailer during the Comic-Con presentation.According to the production team, the English version will feature AI-assisted lip-sync technology, allowing the actors’ lip movements to match the dubbed dialogue for international audiences. The initiative is part of the film’s elaborate global release strategy.

The official San Diego Comic-Con synopsis for the film reads, “In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos.”
‘Ramayana’ cast and release date
Ramayana boasts one of the biggest ensembles assembled for an Indian film. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi portrays Sita. Yash will feature as the antagonist, Ravana, with Sunny Deol playing Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey essaying the role of Lakshman.The cast also includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Adinath Kothare as Bharata, while Anupam Kher lends his voice to Jatayu.While the film is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, reports doing the rounds indicate that the film may just release on November 8, and that the official release date will be mentioned in the trailer.
