Boney Kapoor’s daughter and Arjun Kapoor’s Anshula Kapoor tied the knot with Rohan Thakkar on July 6. Rohan and Anshula were dating each other for a film before he proposed to her and they decided to tie the knot. The wedding took place at Taj Lands End in the presence of close friends and family. Meanwhile, the reception which happened on July 7 was a grand affair. It saw many industry insiders arriving to bless the couple. We saw Rekha, Jackie Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh with Genelia Deshmukh among others who arrived for the reception, apart from the entire Kapoor family who was present including Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor with husband Anand Ahuja among others. However, as per the viral videos on the internet, one also saw Ranveer Singh had attended the reception and as always he was the life of the party. While he did not pose at the red carpet and has remained away from the limelight amidst the ‘Don 3’ controversy, fans were in for a treat to see him make this rare appearance. But the best video is that of Ranveer and Arjun dancing while Himesh Reshammiya sang ‘Mujhko Yaad Sataaye Teri’. In the end, he said, ‘Jhakkaas’ looking at Anil Kapoor while he also came on stage. In another video, the bride and groom, Anshula and Rohan were also dancing to Himesh’s tunes. Another viral video saw the ‘Gunday’ reunion as Arjun and Ranveer danced on ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’. Meanwhile, for the reception and cocktail party, the new bride opted for a red fusion ensemble while the dashing groom contrasted perfectly in shades of black and gold. Sharing a closer look at her ensemble, the bride wrote, “For our cocktail, I knew I wanted to wear red. It is my first evening as a married woman, celebrating this new chapter and somehow sindoori red felt like the only colour that made sense.”Elaborating about the thought that went into the creation of the sensemble, she said, “I wanted it to feel like a metaphor for who I am. Starting with a Banarasi brocade sari, @amitaggarwalofficial deconstructed and reimagined it into a sculptural corseted silhouette, preserving the beauty of its original drape while transforming the pallu into a contemporary couture statement. It honoured tradition without feeling bound by it. And I think that’s exactly what this entire wedding has been about. Holding on to where I come from, while wholeheartedly embracing everything that’s ahead.”
