Shoriful Islam Fit for Australia Tests as Bangladesh Receive Big Injury BoostBangladesh have received a major fitness boost ahead of their two-Test series against Australia. Fast bowler Shoriful Islam has passed his fitness test and is now fit to play. Bangladesh Cricket Board officials confirmed the update to Cricbuzz on Tuesday, August 11. Shoriful had suffered a hamstring injury during Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe in July.

The pacer will miss the opening Test against Australia. He is expected to travel soon and join the squad in time for the second Test of the series. BCB cricket-operation in-charge Shahriar Nafees confirmed that Shoriful has recovered from the injury. He said the fast bowler successfully completed his fitness test and is now available for selection.

Litton Das Makes Good Progress

Bangladesh have also received positive news about Litton Kumar Das. The wicketkeeper-batter is recovering from an injury and remains an important part of the team’s plans for the first Test in Darwin. Litton took part in slip-catching and wicketkeeping drills during Tuesday’s training session. Fielding coach Ashiqur Rahman was pleased with his movement and said, “Alhamdulillah,” while describing the progress made by the experienced player.

The 31-year-old did not join the batting session. He was still involved in football and fielding activities as Bangladesh continued their preparations for the Test, which begins at Marrara Cricket Ground on Thursday, August 13.

Bangladesh Focus On Fielding

Litton’s fitness will continue to be monitored by the team management. His availability is important for Bangladesh as they prepare for the two-match series against Australia. Ashiqur also stressed the need for better concentration in the field. He said players can remain inactive for long periods in Test cricket, but they must stay alert because a single opportunity can decide a key moment.

The fielding coach said Bangladesh want their players to turn half-chances into wickets. He added that the team are working on improving concentration and believe the players are mentally ready to compete strongly in the Test series.
