South Africa U19 Women’s team has reached Pakistan for their five-game T20 series, set to begin on July 14 at National Bank Stadium, Karachi. Led by captain Mieke van Voorst, the 15-member squad will play in Pakistan for the first time ever.
The last time they played a competitive cricket game was in March earlier this year, when they took part in the Nigeria Invitational Women’s T20I Tournament. South Africa were eliminated from the tournament by eventual winners Nigeria women, who defeated the Proteas in the second semi-final.
The visitors will hit the ground running with a training session planned on Saturday. Along with Pakistan, they will practise in Karachi from July 11 to 13.
