
The Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to the number one position on the points table of the Indian Premier League 2026 edition following their victory against Punjab Kings by 33 runs in Hyderabad. The SRH batters put up a magnificent show and scored 235/4 runs for the side. Heinrich Klaasen contributed 69 runs while Ishan Kishan smashed a quickfire fifty. The opening pair Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head also contributed to their side.
The Punjab Kings were unable to get back into the game after losing wickets early on in the chase. Cooper Connolly delivered an excellent batting performance as he remained unbeaten on 107 runs. The batters from the opposition couldn’t support their teammate despite his magnificent innings. With the victory, the SRH jumped to first place with 14 points. The Punjab Kings slid to the second position after their defeat in three consecutive matches.
