Stage 2: Main Group Stage
After the Super Series, the tournament moves into the main group stage. At this point, 12 teams remain in the competition. These include the 11 higher-ranked teams plus the winner of the Super Series. The 12 teams are divided into two groups of six teams each.
Each team plays every other team in its group once, which means every side plays five matches during this stage. Since each group has six teams, there are 15 matches per group, making it 30 matches across both groups.
How Do Teams Qualify from the Group Stage?
The qualification process is slightly different from previous World Cups. The top three teams from each group automatically qualify for the next round. That gives six qualified teams. The ICC has also introduced a seventh qualification spot, which goes to the best fourth-placed team across both groups based on points, net run rate, and other tie-breakers if required.

This round is extremely important because every match directly affects the standings. There are no second chances, and every victory moves a team closer to the semi-finals. The table will be decided based on points, with net run rate acting as the tie-breaker if teams finish level.
Semi-finals and Final
Once the Super 7 stage is completed, the top four teams in the standings will qualify for the knockout stage. The semi-final matchups are designed to reward the best-performing teams. The team finishing first in the Super 7 table will play the fourth-placed team, while the second-placed side will face the third-placed team.
