UAE kept their semi-final hopes alive in the 2026 Women’s T20 Asia Cup with a six-wicket win over Indonesia. They bowled Indonesia out for 73 before reaching the target with 41 balls left.
Kotte Leads UAE Bowling Attack
Suraksha Kotte gave UAE the perfect start with the ball. The offspinner took 3 for 16 and struck with the first two balls of the innings. Kotte dismissed Maria Corazon and Ni Luh Dewi for first-ball ducks. UAE captain Esha Oza then removed Rahmawati Pangestuti in the fourth over. Oza finished with 2 for 11.
The Indonesian team found it hard to make partnerships following the fall of some early wickets. Their best performer in the batting department was their skipper, Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini, who managed 39 runs off 52 balls. Her knock consisted of four boundaries and one maximum. Sakarini contributed 53.4% of Indonesia’s score.
Heena Hotchandani also played a key role with the ball. The slow left-arm spinner took 2 for 6, while Samaira Dharnidharka claimed 1 for 12. Legspinner Vaishnave Mahesh took two wickets in the 20th over to finish the innings.

UAE Complete Easy Chase
UAE started their chase with 17 runs from Theertha Satish and Oza. Satish was dismissed in the fifth over, but Oza kept the scoring moving. Oza hit two boundaries in both the sixth and eighth overs. Rinitha Rajith then added three fours in the ninth over against Sofia Velic.
UAE lost four wickets after reaching 62 for 1. Oza was dismissed for 30 off 29 balls at the start of the 11th over. Velic then took two wickets in the 12th over. UAE needed only six more runs after the collapse. They finished the chase at the start of the 14th over to earn two points.
A win has kept UAE’s chances of reaching the semi-finals alive. They must win against Bangladesh on September 8 and have other results in their favour. Indonesia was out of the competition after suffering three straight losses.
