Pakistan have sunk even lower in the World Test Championship (WTC) table after registering their fourth straight loss of the season.
Teams with identical fortunes
By virtue of their losses and getting docked points for slow over rate, Pakistan dropped to the bottom of the table before the series began. But their 90-run defeat on the fourth day of the Tarouba Test means they will stay stuck in the spot.
West Indies, who haven’t had much different fortunes than Pakistan this season, bagged their second win of the cycle after playing 11 games, most by any team except England, though they do have two draws and no docked points to help them stay above Pakistan. They are now 1-0 up in the series after what was an enthralling end to the opening Test.
Pacers were on song throughout the game, taking 40 wickets in total — which was a first in the Caribbean.
