NEW DELHI: The US accounted for maximum number of instances of attack on Indians living abroad in the past five years, according to figures tabled by govt in Parliament on Thursday. While 33 such attacks were reported from the US from 2021 to 2025, the UAE saw 32 attacks on Indian nationals during this period.The UK and Canada saw 31 and 30 attacks, respectively, on Indians. Ireland, from where a spate of racist attacks has been reported in recent past, accounted for 24 cases of violence against Indians during the period.

MEA minister of state Kirti Vardhan Singh said that the safety and security of Indians abroad is the foremost priority of govt.“Indian Missions/Posts remain vigilant and closely monitor any untoward incidents affecting Indian nationals abroad. Such incidents are immediately taken up with the authorities concerned of the host country to ensure that the cases are properly investigated and the perpetrators are punished as per their domestic laws,” he said, responding to a written question in Rajya Sabha.
