Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have signed Usman Tariq for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL), making him one of the three overseas players carried over from the previous season.
Usman’s heroics in CPL 2025
Besides him, Alex Hales and Colin Munro will be the only overseas players to be carried over from the previous season.
Usman had a breakout season with the franchise last year as he grabbed 20 wickets in 10 games. He ended the season as the second-highest wicket-taker, just three wickets behind Imran Tahir at the top.
When will Usman join TKR?
However, Tariq is currently with Birmingham Phoenix for his maiden The Hundred stint. With the CPL and The Hundred partially overlapping, Usman could join the franchise late.
His fellow Pakistan players, who will make up a significant contingent in this year’s CPL, will also join their respective franchises after August 18.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had mandated white-ball players to take part in a four-team one-day competition as part of the 2027 ODI World Cup preparations. The competition will run from August 11 to 18, with players only getting No-Objection Certificates after that.
