Desert Vipers have roped in another Pakistan player for their ILT20 2026 squad, with Hasan Nawaz rejoining the side. Nawaz, who was part of the Vipers’ title run last season, earlier went unsold during the ILT20 auction. However, Aneurin Donald’s withdrawal from the tournament after being named in England’s T20I squad against Australia made way for the Pakistan batter.
Pakistan players in Desert Vipers Squad
As the only franchise in the league to bid for Pakistan players, and with other franchises owned by India or IPL teams, Vipers have a host of players from the country. As many as four Pakistan players were signed by Vipers, who plucked Shadab Khan, Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Fakhar Zaman for USD 80,000 each. This was the base price for all the players except Shadab Khan, who entered the auction in the second tier with a base price of USD 40,000.
Hasan Nawaz, along with his namesake Hasan Ali, was among the players who hadn’t received bids in previous auctions.
“The fact we have been able to secure the services of Hassan as his replacement is fantastic from our perspective,” Desert Vipers CEO Phil Oliver said.
“He was a key member of the Vipers squad in our successful Season 4 and so he will slot in very easily to our set-up. And, on top of that, he has been in terrific form this year, scoring runs for the Quetta franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and then being a vital component of the Antigua and Barbuda franchise’s run to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title.
“We look forward to welcoming Hassan back to the Vipers for Season 5 and hope he will play his part as we look to go back-to-back in the upcoming tournament.”
The tournament will run from November 21 to December 20, with six teams taking part.
