X-Men Reboot cast revealed: Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Adam Driver as Mister Sinister join Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey

The cast of the X-Men reboot has finally been unveiled. The announcement was made at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which kicked off on August 14 in Anaheim, California. On Friday, the cast of the new planned X-Men film under the Marvel Cinematic Universe was unveiled.

X-Men cast unveiled

At the event, Jake Schreier, who is directing the X-Men reboot for Marvel, was joined onstage by star Sadie Sink, who made her debut as Jean Grey in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sadie and Jake then revealed the rest of the cast of the upcoming X-Men film.

Kit Connor was announced as Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, the leader of the X-Men, while Christopher Abbott will play their mentor Professor Charles Xavier. Samara Weaving has been confirmed to play Emma Frost, while Obsession’s breakout star Inde Navarrette will play Rogue. Maya Boyd has been cast as Storm. All the actors joined Sadie on stage.

Adam Driver joined the cast through a video call, where he revealed that he will be playing a negative character: Nathaniel Milbury, aka Mister Sinister. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige added that more X-Men casting news is still to come as the studio introduces this first group of actors.

Avengers: Doomsday special look unveiled

Robert Downey Jr. took the stage as Doctor Doom as Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday was introduced at D23. Other MCU veterans Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell, who will return in the film as Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, also joined Robert on stage. The makers unveiled a special look for the film at the event, giving the backstory of the film’s villain, Doctor Doom (RDJ).

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film follows beloved heroes from three different universes as they face an existential threat unlike anything they have encountered before.

Everything announced at D23

Apart from these three films, the event unveiled updates on the Star Wars franchise, a teaser for the new season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, as well as first looks at the live-action Tangled adaptation, Coco 2, Oswald and The Bluey Movie, among several other upcoming projects.

Disney also unveiled the first look at Frozen 3 at the D23 fan event. Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell took to the stage as they return as Elsa and Anna in the film. Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff will also reprise their respective roles. The stars confirmed that Anna and Kristoff will be getting married in the story, with the makers teasing that “this royal wedding has been a long time coming.”
