Ever since her first glimpse from Toxic was shown in the teaser, Kiara Advani has been at the receiving end of unwarranted hate for the intimate scenes in the film. On Saturday, at the film’s grand trailer launch in Bengaluru, her co-star Yash not only defended the actor, but also justified the graphic intimate scenes shown in the teaser and trailer.
Yash defends Kiara Advani, sends a message to trolls
The trailer launch of Toxic took place in a mall in Bengaluru on Saturday, where the trailer was screened for mediapersons from all around the country. After the launch, Yash took the stage and addressed the gathering, talking about his co-stars.
Praising Kiara, Yash said, “The kind of role you have performed in this is just a glimpse in trailer. You are so dedicated man. I have seen you like work so hard and you know initially we all thought okay when you get all these actors there could be a problem and there could be so many issues. But I think the start, the beginning is Kiara was so down to earth she dedicated herself and surrendered to this vision in the way she has performed.”
In Toxic, Kiara plays a circus performer named Nadia. The film’s teaser and song Tabaahi showed her romance Yash’s character with some steamy intimate scenes that caught the audience’s attention. Following this, Kiara was even trolled for the scenes online. At the trailer launch, Yash indirectly hit back at the trolls, saying that she should always do what she truly believes in.
“And what you have to go through as an actor unfortunately, don’t care (about it). Whatever you believe in, you should do and people will celebrate, people will appreciate. It’s just that we are a little ahead of times,” he added.
All about Toxic
Toxic is a pan-India action thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas. Shot simultaneously in English and Kannada, Toxic will also be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, taking its world of action, thrill and larger-than-life storytelling to audiences across languages. Marketed as Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, the film also Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles.
The trailer, released on Saturday, showed Yash in a dual role in the film as father and son. The trailer hinted at a violent showdown between the two characters even as it kept the plot under wraps.
