Soon after ‘The Odyssey’ star Zendaya celebrated her 30th birthday, her mother, Claire Stoermer, revealed surprising news. While the actress already keeps her life private and mostly stays away from social media, her mother announced that the star will be taking a hiatus from the online realm for the time being.
Zendaya to take a break from social media
Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, took to her Instagram account to share a sweet and heartfelt post for her daughter’s birthday. She shared a throwback photo of the ‘Spider-Man’ actress from when she was a child and wrote, “Happy 30th birthday to the love and light of my life!! Even though you’re not on socials anymore, and you won’t see this!! We just got off FaceTime!!” Her brief comment confirmed that the 30-year-old star is choosing to keep away from social media for the time being.Although her mother confirmed she is staying off social media, Zendaya also took to her Instagram account to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and the outpouring of love. In the post, she shared a photo of herself from her childhood, sitting on the floor in a criss-cross position while smiling at the camera. She wrote, “I can’t thank you all enough for making the last year of my twenties so beautiful. I have so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to, with love as always…here’s to 30!!!!!”Before this, she had last posted the trailer of ‘Dune: Part Three’ on her account on July 8. At the time of writing, Zendaya herself has not made any statements about her social media break or how long it will last.
Zendaya said that she is going to disappear soon
While the social media break comes as a surprise, it is not the first time the actress has been connected to a possible hiatus. In March, while talking to Fandango, the actress commented that despite the busy year, she is planning on taking a break. She shared at the time, “I just hope you guys don’t get sick of me this year because I’ll tell you what; I’m disappearing for a little bit. I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit.”Two months later, the actress sat down for another interview with Elle, where she made another passing comment on taking a break; however, she also hinted that she cannot stop working for too long. She shared, “As soon as I take a break, I start to go crazy. And I’m like, ‘I need to work.’”

The actress has been quite busy for the past couple of months. From working with Robert Pattinson on ‘The Drama,’ ‘The Odyssey,’ and now ‘Dune: Part Three,’ to co-starring with her partner of 10 years, Tom Holland, in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ Zendaya has done it all.
