Kolkata Knight Riders lost to Mumbai Indians, and now there are many questions, especially about Cameron Green. KKR paid a huge amount (₹25.20 crore) for him and expected him to help both in batting and bowling.
But in this match, when KKR gave away 224 runs, Green didn’t bowl even a single over, which surprised everyone. It did not take long for the question to reach Ajinkya Rahane. His response was as direct as it gets as he put it on Green’s cricket board.
“That question you need to ask Cricket Australia.” Within a few hours, that answer arrived.
Cricket Australia Clarifies Cameron Green’s Bowling Absence After Ajinkya Rahane Raises Concerns
Cricket Australia has said that Cameron Green has a lower back injury, so he cannot bowl for now. They are already managing his recovery, and he is expected to start bowling again in about 10–12 days.
“Cameron has a lower back injury which is being managed but requires him to abstain from bowling for a short period,” a CA spokesperson said. “Cameron is currently rebuilding his bowling loads in India with a view to return in around 10-12 days’ time. KKR has been communicated with and is fully aware of this information.”
That matches what we’ve seen recently. Cameron Green didn’t bowl at all during ICC Men’s T20 World Cup either, showing that his back issue has been affecting him for some time. He then featured for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield and again operated purely as a batter.
