Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has been signed by Yorkshire for the upcoming Vitality Blast season. Hasan will replace Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq, who has been ruled out of the competition with an injury.
Hasan switches Vitality Blast teams
Hasan, who is currently with Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), is a seasoned Blast campaigner. He has represented Warwickshire in three seasons from 2023 to 2025.
In total, he has taken 44 wickets for the team at an impressive average of 14.93. Besides the Blast, Hasan has a wealth of experience in franchise cricket, as he has played in the Big Bash League (BBL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Lankan Premier League (LPL), and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
He is in pristine form for Karachi Kings this year, having taken nine wickets in just four games. Currently, he is the league’s joint third-highest wicket-taker.
Hasan comes in for Naveen
Gavin Hamilton, Yorkshire’s general manager of cricket, said: “Whilst we’re naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement.
“He arrives with a wealth of experience and a skillset that we believe will be invaluable to the group. We’re delighted to have secured someone of Hasan’s quality at such short notice, and everyone at the club is looking forward to welcoming him to Headingley next month.”
Hasan is expected to be available for the entire season, and could play two County Championship fixtures as well.
